In the past few hours, reports have surfaced indicating that Manchester City has lined up a replacement for star winger Jack Grealish, who is on the verge of joining Everton during the current summer transfer window.

Everton has reportedly reached a final agreement with Manchester City to secure Grealish on loan until the end of the season.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, City has identified Real Madrid winger Rodrygo as a prime target to fill the void left by Grealish’s departure — a move made even more pressing with Savinho and James McAtee also nearing exits this summer.

Romano noted that any negotiations would be far from straightforward, as Real Madrid values the Brazilian at around €100 million, a price tag that could prove a major stumbling block.

Rodrygo’s prospects of securing a regular starting role at Madrid next season appear slim, given the presence of Vinícius Júnior, Kylian Mbappé, and emerging talent Gonzalo García.

The Spanish giants have also bolstered their attack with the signing of Franco Mastantuono from River Plate, further reducing Rodrygo’s chances of locking down a spot in the starting lineup.
