Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola said that the Spanish midfielder already passed his injured phase at Al-Hilal in the Round of 16 of the Club World Cup this summer.
Speaking to the media, Spanish coach Nuno said: “Rodri picked up a serious injury against Al Hilal and he will need a month and a half to recover fully.
He said: "Now he has been training with us, but we are going to see, he needs more time; his physical condition is getting better and I hope that after the next international break [in September].
Craig added: "He will get a little bit of game time, but the main thing is that he does not feel in any discomfort whatsoever so it does not reoccur.
Rodri's injury, which kept him out for most of last season, remains a significant setback for the team at the start of the new campaign.
